 Hello, my name is Jim Vogel. I was born in Vancouver, Washington where I lived for the first 37 years of my life.  I graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School and Clark Community College in Vancouver.   In July of 1987, with my wife Sonja and our two children, I moved to Nampa, Idaho to attend Northwest Nazarene College.  I graduated NNC in December of 1990 and began pastoring in Boise, Idaho in January of 1991. In November of 1997, Sonja and I moved to the country of Haiti where we coordinated Work and Witness projects until 2000 when we moved back to Nampa, Idaho to become the Pastor of Adult Ministries here at Nampa First Church.

I was saved later in life at age 32 and just two years later, while on a Work and Witness team, I knew God’s call to full-time pastoral ministry.  I know what it is like to be a non-Christian in a difficult world as well as the incredible victory of a transformed life in our Lord Jesus Christ. 

My passion is people and my gifting is helping anywhere I can with a strong emphasis on support ministries and compassion for the lost and hurting.

My personal interests are spending as much free time as I can with my wonderful wife Sonja, working on my old 1956 Chevy, fishing, camping, observing wildlife and exploring the back roads of Idaho and the Northwest.

I love my ministry with the wonderful people of Nampa First Church and I love to support our pastor Kent Conrad and the rest of the pastoral staff in any way I can.
